Why Weighted BasketballS Work
Weighted (resistance) training for ball-handling follows the same science athletes use in the weight room: progressive overload. By adding a small, controlled increase in resistance, you recruit more muscle fibers, improve neuromuscular coordination, and build movement efficiency at speed.

Note: We recommend using the weighted Size 6 and Size 7 balls for dedicated dribbling and passing training — then switch to a regulation ball for shooting and scrimmage play. Shooting with a weighted Size 6 or Size 7 ball could negatively affect your shooting mechanics and also damage basketball rims and/or backboards.
